Mark’s career spans more than 30 years having served in executive legal roles in the public, academic and business sectors. With Matrix, Mark is responsible for providing legal counsel on all matters and processes for the company, including corporate governance, information security, data privacy, regulatory compliance, and other general corporate matters. Mark’s most recent corporate executive role was Senior Vice President, Legal Affairs for Centene Corporation, where he spent nearly 13 years in both their legal department and as an Executive Vice President, Health Plan Business Unit, leading the largest division of the company. Prior to Centene, Mark was the Associate Vice Chancellor and Deputy General Counsel at Washington University in St Louis, serving as chief counsel to the School of Medicine. Additionally, Mark worked in private practice as a Partner in Litigation and Corporate Compliance at Bryan Cave and earlier in his career as an Assistant U.S. Attorney. Mark earned both his BA and JD from Harvard University and has an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.

Mark and his wife started a charity called “Starting the Conversation” that educates parents, teachers and caregivers about mental health issues for adolescents.

Mark is passionate about his Board service and charitable pursuits, focusing on mental health support, secondary and higher education, and the arts. 

Mark is a military veteran, published author and accomplished speaker on a variety of topics in the healthcare field.
